I see...sorry, I misread your previous statement. My speakers are 6ohm and Baldur has two sets of pole, one for 4ohm and one for 8ohm...do you think I should use the 8ohm one? I tried 8ohm before on Eufrodite which yield a better result than 4ohm in terms of bass energy dispersion. I then fell back to use 4ohm afterwards. PT also recommended to try using 8ohm. I will tonight and let you know.
May be we shall arrange some home visits (if you don't mind) to share more experience on Baldur. Despite all the furious temptations from AE, Baldur still sits tightly in my ever-changing system. Are you using SRA platform for the Baldur?
Thanks. Becker says full balance from the source to the amp, not only between preamp and power. The source is the most important part because balance signal originates there. I have the Heritage too.
I see...are you using Zero transport to match with the Heritage? In this case, I will get another pair of XLR interconnect to be used between the DAC and preamp. As you might know, Zanden DAC does not have a balanced output but still it produces immaculate music.
Waiting for the next shipment of the Argento XLR cables then I will use one pair from the Heritage to the Conductor.

What does true symmetrical output mean?
In the studio room, this terminology has different meaning than our vocabulary.
In the case of Nagra PLL, there is a transformer before the XLR output. Similarly, the MPA has a transformer before XLR INPUT.
This configuration is sometimes called True symmetrical connection. I.e. the presence of the transformer in the XLR IN/OUT defines symmetrical input.
When a transformer is NOT inside, some studio man called it FAKED XLR as printed on your Baldur backside.
The presence of transformers is to BOOSTED signal strength as studio recording./replaying most of the time requires LONG distance cables. Signals are then losted as distance increases.
That's why they need a transfromer before XLR output. When recording engineer does not see the transformer, they called it FAKE BALANCE, very common terminlogy in German recording industry
This approach the signal is NOT DIVIDED INTO TWO ANALOG SINE WAVES (+ AND -)
NOW the Real Deal of True balance from Electronic Circuit deisgn perspective is like this:
True balance could also mean the signals before passing through the preamp are processed individually +/- Right Channel and +/- Left Channel. The hardware requires 4 separate modules from input to output.
The Heritage is true symmetrical (you saw it before, 4 individual boards, 4 individual dac modules) goes directly into the Conductor, also 4 separate modules from input to output. The Baldur, you can also see there are 2 array of tubes each channel, one array is to process + sine wave, and the other array is to process the - sine wave. A total of 4 separate circuits are in used to maintain full symmetrical operation.
Hence from the Heritage to the Conductor to the Baldur is truly PURE SYMMETRICAL design.
It is so true to the point that users are confused because in the market even over 200k+ Bxxlder 2010 is not true symmetrical, only true in output but not in the input side.
RCA can also carries true balance signal. LP is one of them. You see there are always 4 wires attached to the cartridges on the tonearm, the 4 wires represent +/- sine wave on L/R channel. It is just that the ground wire is attached to either channel due to the mechanical limitation of the RCA plugs. As a result, RCA carrying vinyl signals WILL NOT confuse the Conductor preamp.
Last night I had the honour of Studiogrey and CCN visiting my place to listen to the Conductor/Baldur combo, I think over 30LPs were flipped flopped in and out of the Raven. Busy night but really enjoyed their company.

Marval's system are really in class of Roll Royce. In my opinion, the best style of the Roll Royce is a driver + a master or add a pretty wife! I found there r too full loading in a car now, but i know you won't treat your Roll Royce too bad, right? or there s a Farrari coming....

Thanks both CCN and Studiogrey!! I am really happy to hear very honest opinions from both of you!! Congestion is probably the right word to summarise my current system both in the way of physical congestion (ie space) as spotted out similarly by DSo last time when he visited us. Another form of congestion is the dynamic congestion imposed by the speakers. Normally a first edtion LP should have a wider dynamic bandwidth than the 2nd one and likewise 2nd wider than the 3rd. But in my setup, the difference is not significant enough I believe.
Dealing with the physical space is a bigger project than dealing with the speaker. I will expedite....all brothers and veterans, please give poor Marvel some time to save up some more Euro and you will see a new breed in my place soon....hold your breath and I am sure all of you would be shocked....ha ha...

今次到訪,器材真係一時無兩.聽咗一晚,容我真實回覆情况.
Marvel係一個比較理性的愛樂者,聲音反影主人,LP聲也是較理性,高底音暢通無阻,但膠味較淡,是一套監聽味重些的系统.
CD系统玩得好好,反而係音樂味比較LP濃,但LP的密度同立体感,CD是敗下來的.
整体來說,成个setup完成度很高,聲音悅耳.但還是面對香港人的一大問題,如有再大些地方比机器呼吸,用現有的setup,一定正幾倍.
