It's great to met Angel on Saturday. I hope my buzz did not bother him too much while he was working on "something" on the almighty Artemis. His explanation on the relationship between "gain" and "level" is precise. The workable range of the volume control should be as wide as possible so that the user has more control. This somewhat contrasts to the common norm that the preamp should sound loud enough at 9/10 o'clock position. There is a lot more to consider such as the input sensitivity of the amp, the output voltage of the source etc..... That will be great if the upcoming line stage has input adjustment on each independent input. That shoe-box (kid size) headphone preamp of yours was a mind boggling demo.
