昨晚繼績試XLR & RCA的分別.有jazz,voca,pop live同classical
先試 Eric capltan的live,X LR較可表達現場的氣氛.用RCA,人聲同音樂較後.音色較精瑩但缺少passion!
Miles Davis 的Jazz live band,情况同上.用XLR人氣熱鬧好多.
再試卡拉揚的精選,全部慢板(Adagio),RCA的線條係好啲,低音部比較干淨,快速.
最後決定,同時用上XLR同RCA連上DAC to Pre-M,享齊人之福!

(2) The RCA input has NO transformer
Usually
(1) signals are boosted by the transformer - hence higher gain, higher
dynamic but at the same time higher distortion if the original output
of your source is too high.
(2) signals are untouched by anything and goes straight to the
amplification stage inside the linestage - more details, more linear,
more smooth but less gain
However,
(1) It does not always mean higher gain means higher dynamic. It is true that you may feel the sound is more forward and closer to you.
(2) you can adjust the output gain up if you are using RCA input.
Marvel, don't wait. I listened to the 805v2 for a week side by side with 833 driving the horn here in Taipei. Everyone votes for the 805v2. The ac condiitoner really makes a big difference. It may not be a fair comparison because 833 has no ac conditioner attached but in terms of price, they are roughly the same. The 833 should show more color driving conventional speaker like Tidal Sunray, the extra driving power is not used but the sonic purity, it is clear 805v2 is better. I have never listened to any amp with such big conditioner produces startling dynamic contrast like this pair. Our belief is usually don't add anything conditionoing devices to the amplifier.

我也無覺得有咩大分別. 加咗都几有型,好像小型核电厰.
試SACD,RCA明顯"絲絲沙沙"聲少啲,只要將833 volume 減少3-4格即可消去噪音.
今天會再AB比較下分別.暫時較喜歡RCA的表現,弦樂聽得我好"冧"!
好可能喺匹配問題,但估唔到換條線分別咁大.

我以前都只會覺得 XLR 係靚聲 D, 但而家已經轉用 RCA了, 我比較過 XLR 和 RCA 用在 PR-T1 之後發現 XLR 出來 D 聲其實係會粗小小, 不及 RCA的幼滑, 尤其係高音, 最大分別我覺得 RCA 比較自然和柔順.
