I'm sure a system as good as your Zanden is heaps more than capable to reproduce simple Jazz piece like McPartland's "You'd be nice to come home to". The reason of this minor hiccup maybe is the lack of similar Jazz recordings in your collection, which prevented you from viewing the close-mic recording complexity in your room acoustic analysis.
No biggies indeed and if you can tame complicated orchestral symphonies, I'm sure veteran like you will figure it out within minutes. If I have a chance to visit you again maybe I should dub a few interesting cut for you to mess around with.
