Olympic Reference

I’m new to this forum and I need some advice. I’ve upgraded my system a few months ago and was ecstatic about the sound quality- and also the aesthetic simplicity of the Zanden 2500. But recently, I’ve realized that although the sound is ultra smooth in the midrange and provides a well-defined bass, there seems to be some mellowness to the highest treble range. My dealer suggested that I should think about using the Olympic Reference- which he explained would solve my problem because it has more frequency extensions at both ends. Just wondering if anyone of you has come across this ‘problem’ or whether you are now using the Olympic Reference- worth it? Am now using the Flow...

  • Allison,

As the 'house' cable expert of AE, I dare to say OR will definitely meet your requirement using it on Zanden2500. Flow is good but as you said, it is a bit soft on he bass attack. OR will no doubt give a more solid base ground without compromising on the resolution on the mid bass and above.
